Years ago, my family experienced the devastating consequences of a miscalculated property sale. Forced to sell our 5-room flat at a six-figure loss; we couldn’t negotiate an extension period or utilize contra, leaving us with no choice but to downgrade to the cheapest property available under intense time pressure.

 

That moment changed everything for me. It taught me how critical it is to have an agent who prioritizes their client’s needs, and it became the foundation for my approach to real estate today: ensuring that no family has to go through what mine did. Property is often the largest investment a person will make in their lifetime, and being part of that decision is both a responsibility and an honor.

My wife and partner, Melinde (Ms. Chu), has been by my side for over a decade. Her passion for property grew from assisting me in my early career. Inspired by the impact we could make together, she took the bold step to become a licensed real estate agent. Despite initial challenges, Melinde persevered and passed her RES exams after three attempts, earning her license over the last year.

Real estate also appealed to my entrepreneurial mindset—a space where hard work and determination are directly linked to success. As one of my mentors once said, “What you kill is what you eat,” perfectly capturing the competitive, merit-based nature of this industry.
